Story
Following the devastating earthquake in the K&C Rehabilitation Team have decided to fundraise as much money as possible on behalf of the Red Cross.
As you all have seen on the news, they are struggling to provide adequate food, water, shelter and medical equipment to an already impoverished nation. As we speak, children are having their limbs amputated without anaesthetic simply because there are not enough doctors and medical equipment to deal with the huge numbers of injured. The aim is to raise £1000 as a contribution to the Red Cross, to help them in their efforts to save lives and rebuild the country after this catastrophe. Our team is hoping to keep a static bicycle running for 24 hours by taking ½ to 1 hr shifts through the day and night. It’s all going to take place at 1:00pm on the 29/01/2010 for 24 solid, long hours! We are hoping that everyone visiting this page can donate a little or a lot to help us achieve our target. We know that people are strapped for cash after Christmas but even if you can only afford a small donation, it all goes to a good cause. Just think that the cost of your daily coffee can help provide enough water and food to keep someone alive another day. Many thanks and…wish us luck!!! It’s going to be a very long night!!!!
