Hi Everyone.
In October we will be cycling 400km across China to raise money for Regain. Regain are a charity who help those, like Rob, who have received spinal injuries, to participate in sport and get back to an active life. They have helped Rob in many ways over the last few years and we would like to thank them by raising money so they can help others in similar situations.
This event will be a big challenge for both Jo 'I don't do sport!' Schildt and Rob who will be completing the event on his handbike - a bike propelled by arm power, designed for people who can't use their legs to pedal (see photo). We have started our training for the event. We have the summer to prepare ourselves, and by October we will have to be able to average 80km a day over very hilly terrain! We are trying to get out on the bikes a few evenings a week and again on the weekends - the sunshine is certainly helping.
Our other challenge is meeting our fundraising target. This is where you can help! If you can contribute, even a small amount, please use the secure online sponsorship below. Remember to fill out the appropriate bits if you are a UK Tax payer and we can claim back an extra 28% from the government at no cost to you! Thank you very much
Rob & Jo
