Hello and welcome to our fundraising page! Our team of trekkers includes me (Hannah), Brenda (my Mum), and our good friend Jenny.
We will be embarking on an exciting adventure in October, when we jet off to Beijing to trek along the Great Wall of China for the charity Prospects. Rebecca (Brenda's daugher, Hannah's sister) lives in a Prospects home in Bournemouth. Rebecca has Dyspraxia, and her Prospects home allows her to live semi-independently with carers on hand and with opportunities for her to learn new things and meet new people. Prospects also work overseas to enable carers in other countries to ensure people with learning difficulties lead fulfilled lives.
As part of our trek we will be walking for approximately 8 hours a day along rarely-trodden parts of the Great Wall. The trek will last 10 days, during which time we will be visiting Beijing, trekking Heavens Ladder (a steep 200 step climb up a cliff face), visiting mountain villages, and even perhaps taking part in a giant 400ft zip slide!
Please be aware that we are paying for the trek ourselves, so any money raised will go direct to Prospects.
