In August 2015, a team of around 30 students from Loughborough University, including myself, will be trekking the famous 'Inca Trail' in Peru; a strenuous 26 mile journey that concludes at the ancient ruins of Machu Picchu.
The challenge is in order to raise both money and awareness for the Epilepsy Society. It is an amazing charity that aims to provide help for sufferers of epilepsy across the UK through the use of "cutting edge research, awareness campaigns, information resources and expert care."
On average, 1 in every 100 people in the UK suffers with Epilepsy, with around 80 more people being diagnosed every day.
Furthermore, if each team member manages to successfully raise the required amount, we will be able to fund the running the research centre for 2 years.
So, here's the tricky part... Before June / July 2015, I need to personally raise £3000. It seems like a lot now, but I'm sure that it will be possible with a little generosity, grit and determination. Please, please help me reach my target and do something for a charity that truly deserves more recognition and support.
Any donations will be much appreciated.
