Flora London Marathon 2008 · 13 April 2008 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.  I'm back again this year for not just 26.2, but 52.4 miles!  1st stop - the London Marathon on 13/4/08, 2nd stop - the New York Marathon on 2/11/08!

I decided to enter London 2008 as soon as I crossed the line in 2007 and late last year, I agreed to run New York in memory of a great friend, Jo Causer, who passed away in October.  I'm running in New York with 4/5 of Jo's friends, who thought it would be a fitting tribute, as after completing London last year, she talked about entering New York one day.

UPDATE - I made it round London in 3 hrs 32 mins & 16 secs!  Thank you for all your support, esp my friends and family who came out to cheer me on and were battered by the wind and rain from 2 hrs onwards!

Jo and I ran for the Alzheimer's Society last year, because we had witnessed first hand the great work they do when my Dad was diagnosed with the disease and started to make use of the charity's services.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: the Alzheimer's Society will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Thank you for your support.
