I did it! 5:37:33 and didn't have to crawl over the finish line!
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
My lovely mum Jan lost her battle with breast cancer last year. She was 58. Since then I have been busy doing something positive back in the face of this dreadful disease - raising money for Breast Cancer Campaign, a charity dedicated to developing treatments and finding a cure.
The London Marathon seemed like an ideal way of doing this! To many, the prospect of running 26.2 miles is a little like madness - to me too, if i'm honest.! I know it's hard and i know it hurts, but that is all part of the appeal. I took care of my mum, together with my dad in their home until she died there at 6pm on January 5th 2008. This disease paralysed and destroyed her.. l watched my mum push herself to the limits on a daily basis, just to stay alive. When i am running and become tired, when my legs hurt and i'd rather stop, I think of how she pushed herself and how determined she was not to give up - then my legs get strong and my pace increases and the pain shifts to a dull, empty ache in my heart - I picture her happy smiling face and i push on and run some more...
It is sadly too late for my mum..but there are so many more woman like her, younger and older...these woman need our help, so that's what I am asking of you...to help me to help them!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Breast Cancer Campaign gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me and join me in the fight against breast cancer!
Kindest regards,
Hannah Miller
