Please Sponsor Me!!
Diabetes UK has always been a charity very close to my heart. My Mother has been diabetic since before I was born, and thanks to the research made available by Diabetes UK, she has been able to control it more and more effectively as the years have gone on. A close friend of mine is also diabetic and it would be amazing if, by the time she's in her 30s, she need never worry about falling into a coma because even more consistent drugs are being found and utilised.
It's a great charity, that works hard (and I always liked their magazine, Balance, too - I'm a simple minded girl!) so please help me in supporting them!!
I've never tried running before...not since I was in year 5, not really. This is a massive challenge for me, and although I'm really enjoying the training, I'm very scared about running 13 miles! So please be generous and give me that boost to struggle my way round ;)
Thank you!!
Hannah
Update: 1 June
You'll be pleased to here that training is going extremely well!! I am doing 40 minute runs without too much difficulty (although, I do allow myself a little walk here and there!) I've also decided to up my target to £500 - I'm clearly feeling very positive!!
Update: 28 August
After a lazy fortnight of holiday, I'm back on track in earnest with a full training schedule for the next five weeks, not to mention a food plan where my body is being treated like a temple!! I've managed a 60 minute run, and am building up each week with pace and speed type running in the week, and stamina runs on a sunday. On track!!!
Update: 10 September
I have run 8 miles. I rock.
