<p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Hi All,</p> <p>On the 15th of April 2012 I'll be running the Brighton marathon- all twenty six point two miles of it.</p> <p>I'm doing it to support a humanitarian aid charity that I know very well, Hope and Aid Direct. They raise money and collect donations of food, medicine, clothes, tools and toys, and then drive these supplies directly to the areas that need it most in Kosovo, Bosnia, Croatia, Serbia and Romania.&nbsp;</p> <p>I've seen how much work it takes to collect enough blankets to fill a lorry, and how many packets of pasta, tins of soup and boxes of toiletries it takes to fill seven.&nbsp;My Dad took part in numerous trips when the charity was first set up by him &amp; Chas Storer in 1996. The convoys that their volunteers take part in are often through areas that are still unsettled and dangerous. Navigating their way around land mines, taking routes through mountain ranges and with long drives over unconstructed roads, they take aid to the areas that need it most.&nbsp;These countries don't often make it onto our TV screens anymore but people who have had their homes and lives destroyed there are still very much in need.</p> <p>Any pounds you can donate will be well spent. H&amp;AD put every penny towards funding the trucks which their volunteers drive, and live in, during the twice yearly trips. Whilst the charity states they are not changing the world, they continue to change and help rebuild countless peoples lives.&nbsp;</p> <p>Every pounds you can spare will also give me a reason to keep running...
