My story

Our son, Harry Mills, died from Meningitis on Thursday the 26th of April 2007 at the age of 11 years. A much loved boy, Harry always had a beaming smile on his face and limitless enthusiasm for sport and life itself.  The Youth Sports Trust have offered the following kind words and a Team Maker Award in memory of Harry.

The generous donations we have received in memory of Harry Mills will go a long way in helping us do what we passionately believe, which is to use the power of sport to improve the lives of young people.

Our mission is to support the education and development of all young people through PE and sport, and as Harry was such a talented young sportsperson who played a variety of sports, the money will go towards our key work around gifted and talented young people. It will help others with his kind of talent to participate in sport and help them achieve their best.

Thank you to the Mills family for their support, and everyone else who has kindly donated to the Youth Sport Trust in memory of Harry. This will help us build a brighter future for young people through sport, and make a real difference to the lives of young people.

Harry has also inspired us to create the Team Maker Award in his memory. He was an 11 year old well beyond his years - he was a team player, a fair player and someone who was always thinking of others and looking out for those in his team. His memory will hopefully inspire others in his fantastic enthusiasm and commitment to sport and in his team making skills within it.

This award will be made to those young people who take part within our camps, programmes and events, who show these similar characteristics to Harry.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to donate: Youth Sport Trust will receive your money electronically and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in Gift Aid will be added to your donation at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your kind donation in memory of Harry.  It means a lot to us.

Thanks and best wishes,

Richard & Judi Mills
