Thanks to all you wonderful people, we hit the target before I'd got back from the school run; in 12 hours not 24!!!

We bought the iPad the same day; many thanks to the Apple Store in Cribbs who got us one so quickly and helped us set it up with loads of apps.  We took it into hospital this afternoon (Tuesday 13th July) and Harvey loved it, particularly the toy story app we loaded up.

Harvey (pictured on the left) is an identical twin in our Bristol support group. He's just been diagnosed with cancer (neuroblastoma) and has already started chemo.  His treatment will take 14 months, most of the time he will be in hospital.

As a parent whose son has spent some time in hospital, I know how hard it can be to keep in touch.  With a 3G iPad they will be able to get online, get email and generally stay in touch with the world.  They will also be able to download books, films, music and games to keep themselves and Harvey entertained.

Apple are holding back an iPad for 24 hours, so we have a very short window of opportunity!! Our target will be enough to buy the iPad +12 months data access. If we fail to get enough money, it will be put towards general BADSS funds as will any excess raised.
