Story
We are looking for support in this challenge to raise awareness of our club and the role of other voluntary lifeguard clubs in Sussex and, of course to raise funds. The funds we raise will be going towards a new rescue boat, our insurance and pool hire costs.
In 2009 we undertook a successful Channel relay swim, in 2009 we successfully completed a one way swim and paddle on a rescue board of the 10½ miles of Lake Windermere .
In 2010, Dean Baker, is going to run over 200 miles around East and West Sussex visiting many of the active lifesaving clubs. One of Dean's aims is to run the first 100 miles without stopping - about 3.5 marathons back to back. From Hastings he will visit Eastbourne, Brighton and Hove, Worthing and Chichester, and home – all this in just 3 to 4 days. During the run a number of members will be running or cycling one or more legs with him. They are all being sponsored to raise funds towards our new rescue boat.
Please support us with some sponsorship, remember our aim is to raise the profile of Sussex Voluntary Lifesaving and Lifeguard Clubs as well as reach our goal for our new rescue boat.
Thank you, Hastings Voluntary Lifeguard Committee
