Mbwa Mkali (Dangerous Dogs in Swahili) is proud and honoured to take part in UK’s 10th Rhino Charge on September 21st 2008 at Pippingford Park in Sussex.
A Nissan Patrol GR SLX Estate will attempt to escort us through 1500 acres of rough terrain, magnificent beech woods and ancient hammer ponds on the edge of the Ashdown Forest.
It’s not all about horsepower though as the event involves a combination of 4x4 orienteering, navigation and secret special tasks designed to test teamwork and lateral thinking!
Rhino Ark (UK) is the UK based charity supporting Rhino Ark Kenya in the building, patrol and maintenance of a 320km fence round the Aberdare National Park in Kenya. Rhino Ark seeks to protect the interests of the Black Rhino, preserve the valuable eco-system of the Aberdares Mountain Range, conserve the resources of one of Kenya’s most important indigenous forests and resolve the conflicts that exist between humans and wildlife that co-habit the area.
Since the charity was founded in 1988, over 230km’s of the fence has been built of which animals, farms, forests and ecosystems are all really benefiting. However, 110km of the fence still needs to be urgently built and maintained so please kindly dig deep and sponsor Mbwa Mkali to help and support Rhino Ark’s mission!
