The blisters are healing and my thighs are slowly coming back to life. Yes, 2 days after running the half marathon, I am starting to feel normal again. After checking my time, I am fairly happy with my time at 2 hrs 18 mins. Not exactly breaking any records, but I am really happy I managed to complete it in less than 2.5 hrs, without stopping. The weather was wet to begin with, but slowly tapered off to low cloud with the occasional breeze - perfect for cooling down! All in all, it was tough, particularly the last 3 miles, but I am happy with how it went. Not sure if I'll be doing it again in a hurry though. Many thanks once again to those who helped me achieve my fundraising target. It really meant alot on the day :)x

Eek! 5 days to go, and the pressure is on. I think the penny has just dropped how far it actually is, but it's too late to back out now. My running chip and number has arrived and I WILL cross that finishing line (hopefully not on all fours.)
if positive thinking can't save me, nothing will! cheers to the generous and kind folk below for your sponsorship.
See you at the end for a celebratory drink x

On Sunday 5th September, I will be running my first (and probably last!) Bristol Half Marathon in aid of beat - a UK charity which supports people with eating disorders and their families.
Eating disorders are a serious mental illness affecting 1.6 million people in the UK. beat provides helplines for adults and young people, online support and a UK-wide network of self-help groups to help people beat their eating disorder.
Reaching my fundraising target enables beat to train a helpline worker. To have someone to listen and understand the reasons behind an eating disorder is what I couldn't offer a person I'm close to with bulimia. Your contribution - no matter how small - will certainly motivate me on race day to help achieve my target and to make sure there is always that first person to turn to.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now. Thanks!
