Story
Football is a wonderful game.
Living near Coventry, I've been having to remind myself that a lot in recent years.
It's about teamwork, staying fit and having fun.
The trouble is that it's become more than that.
And none more so than during this summer's World Cup.
Grown men, paid far too much, just kicking a football around.
And men, women and children spending lots of money and time watching them do it.
Whilst millions of Africans continue to live hopeless lives; homeless, hungry and ill.
They love football too, but they know that there are more important things in life.
So, this summer, why not keep things in perspective?
Instead of watching the World Cup, go for a long walk with family or friends.
Share a meal with a stranger.
Or spend some time on a new hobby.
This is what I'll be trying to do every time there's a World Cup game on the television.
It would be great if you could support this adventure.
You can help raise money for CORD's work in Africa by clicking the DONATE NOW link.
Do leave a message too and tell me if you'll be joining this challenge.
If you do watch any of the World Cup, enjoy it. But keep it in perspective.
Remember those millions of people in Africa.
People who have more important things to worry about than who wins a football game.
Thank you so much for your support. And, yes, I do hope England win!
