Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please sponsor my 24 mile bike ride to raise money for LAM research. The ride took place on 25 June, 2006 but you can still sponsor me - your donation will be just as useful!

As you may know, LAM has no cure or treatment at the moment. For me and all the other women with the disease, finding a treatment that at least halts the progress of the disease is crucial. At the moment, my lung capacity is about 30% of what it should be for a woman my age (35). I now have to use supplemental oxygen and will eventually be assessed for a lung transplant.

The money raised will go towards patient support and research, in the hope of finding a treatment that slows the prgression of the disease, so women with LAM can be stabilised while searching for a cure. There is so little known about LAM that we cannot hope for a cure to be found in the next few years, but there are some drugs that will hopefully stop the deterioration of our lungs. Therefore we urgently need drug trials to determine which drug can stabilise us. Please help me raise money for this under-researched, under-funded disease.
