Dear all,

I have been unlucky enough to be accepted through the Flora London Marathon ballot to run 26.2 miles, through the streets of London, on 26th April 2009.  Whilst the whole idea of this and the 16 weeks gruelling training schedule terrifies me, I have the luxury of being able to choose a charity close to my heart and raise as much for them as possible.   I am running for the Alzheimers Society.

The funds I raise will help the society to continue its work of:

- funding research into the cause, care and cure of dementia

- running quality care services and support for carers

- campaigning for improved health and social care and greater public understanding and awareness of dementia.

Your support will ensure that the very special services provided by the society are available to those who need them most.
