Hello! Thank you for visiting my JustGiving fundraising page.

I am taking part in the 'Beastly Feast 2010', a 7.5 mile multi-terrain run with an assault course and lots of mud and water involved!

It's starting at Top Barn Activity Centre in Worcester and sounds like it will be some good, dirty fun. I often run for enjoyment and fitness, but I have been specially training for this run for a couple of months now, having never ran 7.5 miles in one go before.

I am taking part in this run to help raise money for my voluntary experience abroad. I will be volunteering in Fiji for nearly 8 months, starting mid-January, teaching on Ovalau island which is to the east of the main island at Taviya District School. I will be teaching primary school aged children English, Science along with various other subjects and can start up extra-curricular activities like sports clubs if I like.

I am volunteering with Lattitude Global Volunteering, a UK registered charity (Charity No. 272761) which is non-profit.

I aim to raise £700 from this run.

Even if it's just a small amount it will all add up, so please just donate whatever you can, no matter how small!

25th Nov - My story about my run for Fiji got into the local paper, The Shuttle. Can be seen online too. Later, found out by some Fijians it made it onto The Fiji Times and into The Daily, their local newspaper.

29th Nov - Many thanks to everyone who has sponsored me! :) Very generous. Did not expect to raise so much! £483 and counting....

Finished the run in 1hr 12mins.

Sunday 28th Nov was a very cold but sunny day for the challenge. 0 degrees C! I was freezing but soon got warmed up by all the twisting hills, mud, logs and tyres I had to clamber over. Even had to crawl under nets and ran through a bit of the lake which was literally frozen over. They broke a bit of the ice so people could have a giggle at us treading through the freezing cold water. Luckily this was near the end! The after effects of all those hills were showing today - my legs were killing. It hurt to walk at work so I sat down mostly. All worth it though for my fundraising efforts for Fiji :) 6 weeks Sunday I'll be on the plane to my teaching placement in Fiji!
