Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Hbg Project Gemini has decided to enter a team of intrepid adventurers to undertake one of the most arduous, yet exhilarating team challenges that the has to offer.

The 3 Peaks Challenge is a really exciting opportunity to climb the three highest peaks in , and, all in 24 hours!

The peaks are Ben Nevis (1344m), Scafell Pike (978m) and Snowdon (1085m) and the challenge involves some 450 miles of driving, and around 26 miles of walking/climbing. It also includes around 3,000 metres of ascent and descent; we will spend around 11 hours driving between the peaks, and 13 hours or so walking in the mountains. This is arguably one of the toughest mainstream challenges currently within the which we believe we have prepared well for. The .team has already shown a great deal of commitment and dedication throughout their training and is now looking forward to the event itself.

The challenge will take place on the weekend of October 4th/5th 2008, and we will be climbing to support the work of The Queen Alexandra Hospital Home a charity dedicated to caring for physically disabled ex-Service men and women and the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation.  For these worthwhile charities, we will aim to raise a minimum of £5,000. For more information about the charities, please visit www.qahh.org.uk and www.childliverdisease.org

As a valued subcontractor to HBG, I would be most grateful if you would help us to support this worthwhile charity by sponsoring our team in this challenging event. We will be putting ourselves through the extremes of British mountain weather, both hot and cold - wet and dry; we will also experience lack of sleep, uncomfortable travelling conditions, the usual British traffic delays and Frank Hayes war stories! There is no doubt that this challenge is technically very difficult and physically demanding. But it’s not all bad, combined with your support, the sense of achievement and exhilaration at the finish will make it all worthwhile!

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Queen Alexandra Hospital Home gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor Hbg now!
