Virgin London Marathon 2010 · 25 April 2010 ·

EVERY 90 SECONDS someone in the UK is admitted to hospital with an acquired brain injury (ABI). There are many possible causes, such as a fall, a road traffic accident, an assault, a tumour or a stroke. A brain injury can happen to anyone, at any time. When it does, we're here to help

Story

A huge thank you to everyone who supported and sponsored this marathon endeavour; obviously we'd all rather it never had to happen in the first place, but we've been overwhelmed by the incredible generosity not just of those who knew how wonderful Alex was, but also people who never met him but understand. Thank you so much.

Thanks for visiting my justgiving page.

My nephew Alex was kind, happy, funny, clever, and just 21 years old when he died from a brain injury suffered in a fall.  It can happen to anyone.  I'm taking part in the London Marathon in his memory and to raise money for the brain injury association Headway because when it does happen, they're there to help.  Please help them carry on their vital work helping those who survive the devastation of brain injury, and supporting the families of those who tragically don't.
