Okay - so I'm not swimming the ACTUAL Channel...but I am going to be swimming twenty two miles - yes you read correctly...TWENTY TWO MILES with nothing between my bare skin and the very dodgy, heavily chlorinated water at my local swimming pool than a Tesco's bargain basement swimming costume.
It couldn't be more risky.
And since I'm prepared to tip toe my way through the freezing footbath - IN WINTER!! - and perform this death defying feat it would be rather lovely of you if you could perhaps use this site to sponsor me. Oh yes, long gone are the days where you can scribble 20p per mile on a dog eared bit of paper and hope that I never actually do make one full circuit of the playground. I promise to update this site and let you know how I get on. (There won't be any photos - who needs a close up of my cellulite at 11 miles?) But it should be pretty exciting non the less. Will I dodge the floral swimming caps in the slow lane? What will happen if I'm injured slipping on a discarded verucca sock? What will the other swimmers think as I rub goose fat over my limbs by the 50p lockers?
