Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I have raised money for the Alzheimer's Society for a number of years now by taking part in running events.
This year I am doing something a bit different. I will be taking part in 3 events. The first, Student Cross, begins on Saturday 15th March. This is a walking pilgrimage of 120 miles, walking by road from Nottingham to the shrine in Walsingham. By day we walk between 15 and 20 miles, taking turns to carry a large cross. Each night we will sleep on church hall floors: a bit better than camping though we still have to take sleeping bags and mats. 250 people of all ages take part in Student Cross, in 10 'legs' - groups travelling from different towns but all meetuing up at Walsingham on Good Friday.
As always, please sponsor me if you can but don't worry if you can't. This year I would like to raise a substantial amount of money, so tell all your friends and relatives about it. Remember, dementia can strike anyone. The author Terry Pratchett sadly has been diagnosed with it. My Dad has it as did other members of his family before him. You probably know people who also had/have it. One day it may be curable. Until then we need the Alzheimer's society who work both with sufferers and their families and those searching for a cure.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Alzheimer's Society will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
