Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.  St. Francis Hospice is a truly special place which is there 24/7 to provide specialist care for patients with cancer and life-limiting illnesses and their families. The hospice touched the hearts of many of us last year as this was where Steve's dad Gordon was given continuing care throughout the final stages of his illness- the staff really were amazing, and the hospice does a wonderful job in caring for those who unfortunately dont pull through, and also their families and friends in those dark days. Help me help them help others and dig deep and sponsor me online.

Saint Francis Hospice cares for more than 1,400 patients and their families each year

  • There are 22 in-patient beds for people needing pain and symptom control, respite or continuing care
  • Our day hospice welcomes up to 17 patients each day
  • At any one time up to 200 patients and their carers will be supported in their own homes by our team of 7 community nurses
  • Hospice at home nurses give hands on nursing care to patients who wish to remain in their own homes during the final days of their illness
  • The hospice provides ongoing education for staff and others working in healthcare 100 staff, 850 volunteers and thousands of supporters are needed if we are to continue to give vital services and care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

And look, I'm running 26.2 bl**dy miles here, so damn well get your money out!!!

  • Err update- the London Marathon sponsorship has now been passed over to a similar crazy task of riding a bike (that I dont yet even own) to Paris, and then 2 days later riding to Amsterdam. My bike legs unfortunately dont work as well as my running legs and I might possibly die, but hey its worth a go for such a worthy cause. Thank you all.
