For my birthday this year, I’ve opted out of the usual present requests and asked my family to fork out for me to do a tandem skydive so that I can raise money for St Margaret’s Somerset Hospice. I don’t know what will be scarier – jumping out of a plane at 13, 000 feet or turning 30!! As the cost of the skydive will be covered, all money raised can go straight to the charity.

The skydive will be in Netheravon on 29th November, weather permitting. Anyone within a ten mile radius will hear my screams but there will also be a video to capture my loss of dignity. I am prepared to reveal the humiliating footage in return for sponsorship!

Negatives

I’m not a fan of heights.

Being the end of November, it’ll be freezing.

The only ‘extreme’ activity I have done to date is a roller-coaster ride. With my Nan.

I’ll be having Quiet Life pills instead of birthday cake. 

Positives

I’ll be too preoccupied with fear to worry about being 30.

Raising money for the St Margaret’s Somerset Hospice, who cared for my Dad in his last days and who were an incredible support to me and my family during such a painful time.
