I will be swimming the English Channel in September 2008 to raise funds for three charities. Firstly a donation will be made to Leukaemia Research in memory of my grandfather and friend who both died of the disease.  Secondly I will support the School’s World Challenge expedition to China where my classmates and I will work to improve the living conditions of orphans. Thirdly I intend to raise money toward my School’s Sixth Form Centre Appeal.

At Bury Grammar School, I have developed a real love for sport and was thrilled to represent my school in the National English Schools’ Swimming Competition.  For my Channel swim, I plan to attract business sponsorship and will be seeking individual sponsors and donations. Every stroke I take will be for the three things I care about most.
