The Community foundation for Calderdale connects people who care with local causes that matter. It does this by staging fundraising events, working with individuals and companies using their donations to make a positive difference in local communities through grant making.
LATEST NEWS 22/10/09 After smashing our intial target of raising £12,500 in donations we have raised the bar to £37,500 which with matchfunding by Grassroots Grants could equate to a £75,000 endowment fund. Well done and thank you to all those of you who have donated both online and in the real world.
The Mytholmroyd and Cragg Vale Fund
The sole purpose of the Mytholmroyd and Cragg Vale Fund is to support small charities and voluntary organisations carrying out projects in Mytholmroyd, Cragg Vale and Brearley.
All money donated is carefully invested by the Community Foundation for Calderdale and the interest is given out in grants to local projects once a year.
The money you donate is never actually spent, just the interest it makes. This means that any donation you make will help local community groups year after year. The Government's Office of the Third Sector has also pledged to match your all donations made by adding the same amount to the fund.
For every £1 donated, an additional £1 will be added to the Mytholmroyd and Cragg Vale Fund, and if you are a UK tax payer this could be as much as £1.50 - making your £1 worth £2.50 to the fund.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. The Mytholmroyd and Cragg Vale Fund gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
The Mytholmroyd and Cragg Vale Fund was set up by the Mayorof Hebden Royd, Cllr. John Beacroft-Mitchell, working with the Community Foundation for Calderdale.
There are plans to introduce a fund for Hebden Bridge in time for the 500th Anniversary of the Bridge.
