Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. On Jan. 12, 2010, a massive earthquake struck Haiti, reducing much of its capital to rubble. It was the worst earthquake in the region in more than 200 years. The devastation has created serious obstacles to those attempting to deliver promised foreign aid.

So, I decided that i would try to help and raise some money for Haiti to ensure that i did what i could to support those in need. I chose to sit in a bath tub full of baked beans for 4 hours in Banbury Train Station, it went well....

Firstly, I would like to thank everybody who helped set up! I bought 20 tins of catering size Baked Beans thinking this would be loads, unfortunately not, so we had to get 40 more!! Time was pressing on and I had to get in the bath as it was 10.00am, Paul and Mark C + Dad, Fabio, Kathy and Julian all helped to open and pour the remaining tins in -  A BIG Thank You to them!!

Once I'd got in, I never thought Baked Beans would be sooo cold....they are freezing! I quite honestly could of cried. I tried to keep warm with Hot water bottles and the local shop asssited with pouring some hot water into the beans...it helped for about 30 minutes and i apprecaited the effort so much, but it was still very cold.  (Thanks to my mum for bringing a blanket and to Emma for donating a pair of gloves!!)

Thankfully I lasted the 4 hours as promised but i'm not going to deny I really didn't think I would make it, after about 5 minutes my toes were like they been put in  a freezer so you can imagine what it was like after the 4 hours - my dad did confess afterwards that he very nearly insisted that i got out because he was so worried - ah how lovely! (That was probably because I had blue lips and couldn't hold a hot drink because I was shaking so much) Thank you to Banbury Sound for announcing the event every hour and popping down to say hi.

Finally, I cannot Thank the people who came and supported me enough because I dont think i'd of lasted otherwise! So, THANK YOU to all those who came and showed their support, My Family, Emma G, and all my friends who came in to the station to laugh at me! I would also like to thank The Bath Store in Banbury for donating the bath.

One more thing - the cleaning up was not fun. ! :-( thanks to Fabio, Mel and Mark C' s Mum and station staff for helping to clear away!!

And THANK YOU to EVERYBODY who sponsored me!! :-) xxx
