We fund vital innovative biomedical studies to ignite research into ME/CFS

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Living close to and supporting on a daily basis someone whose life has been drastically altered by ME, I want to raise funds to help the ME research teams in the UK dedicated to finding the cause of this awful disease.

I will walk throughout the 7 days of ME awareness week 2016 from the 9th to the 15th of May!

The goal is to walk the 184miles of the Thames Walk.

ME Research UK has the principal aim of commissioning and funding biomedical investigation into the causes, consequences and treatment of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (popularly known as M.E.)  This debilitating illness affects between 120,000 and 240,000 people in the UK, but is neither well understood nor, in many cases, properly recognised. We also have a mission to “Energise ME Research” by raising awareness of the need for biomedical research into ME/CFS and by providing high quality information. Since 2000, we have awarded grants of almost £1.4 million to universities in the UK and overseas for over 40 specific scientific studies.
