Action against Medical Accidents (AvMA) is the independent charity which promotes better patient safety and justice for people who have been affected by a medical accident.  A 'medical accident' is where unintended harm has been caused as a result of treatment or failure to treat appropriately. AvMA believes that whatever the cause of a medical accident, the people affected deserve explanations and support.

AvMA has a team of medically and legally trained caseworkers who can provide free and confidential advice plus practical and emotional support.

A small donation of just £3 contributes towards maintaining our helpline, ensuring people are given the best representation and ultimately working towards safer medical care in the NHS.
