Bede is a community based charity offering opportunities for people in Bermondsey, Rotherhithe and Southwark. It aims to help people develop their skills, talents and confidence and contribute to the community. It offers youth work, services for adults with learning disabilities, help for victims of hate crime especially domestic violence and homophobic crime and community development work

My story

Hi all,

As some of you already know, I am about to embark on my fourth marathon (madness you might think). Each marathon that I have completed I have always selected a very worthwhile charity, and this time is no exception!

I am running for the Bede House Association. The charity was set up in 1938 to help the disadvantaged families in Bermondsey and Rotherhithe. Bede runs support groups for a range of community projects, including support for people with learning difficulties and support for those who have suffered domestic violence and hate crime.
