Cancer! What a horrible word and a horrible disease. And my family seem to have a lot of it.

Many of my close friends and relatives have had this awful disease. Some have come through it and made it out of the other side. And others - well, they've not been as lucky, but they are always in my thoughts.

But, I have yet to do the Race for Life event for these people. I am one of the laziest people that you're ever likely to meet. My idea of exercise is getting up to grab the remote for the telly or walking from the house to my car.

This year, though I set myself the challenge of doing the Race for Life. I know, it's hardly a marathon, but it is hard work for me I assure you. Anyway, I have been training and I'll be doing the event on Sunday 5th July.

I know you'll be getting a lot of these sponsorship requests for this event, but I hope you'll choose to lend me your support and think of me on the day - or rather have a good giggle thinking of me walking!
