Helen Elks-Smith and Julie Collins are taking part in the London to Paris bike ride in June 2008.

It takes 4 days to cycle from London to Paris.  Right now  (January 2008) this seems an impossible task.  But nothing like as hard as having breast cancer.  1 in every 9 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer during their lives.  So for all the women that we know and love who are affected by breast cancer we will make it to Paris.  Help us by donating what you can, large or small, every penny counts!

Day 1: London Greenwich to Dover where we finally get a rest as we sail across to Calais (95 miles)
Day 2: Calais to Abbeville (75 miles)
Day 3: Abbeville to Beauvais (70 miles)
Day 4:  Beauvais to Paris, finishing at the Eiffel Tower (65 miles)

Yes that really does add up to over 300 miles!!! So please sponsor us, the more we raise the easier each of those miles will feel.

February 2008:  So far we have managed to ride 50 miles, that was back before Christmas.  With the weather and the christmas pudding it has taken us a few weeks to get back into training....... Sunday saw us manage 30 miles - not bad in the cold and wind although we were completely exhausted afterwards!  Just a bit more training needed.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Breast Cancer Care will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your support.

Helen and Julie
