We’re the 10 million people living with arthritis in the UK. The carers, researchers and healthcare professionals. The family, friends and fundraisers. United by a clear vision: a future free from arthritis. One in which no one is limited by the pain, fatigue and isolation that arthritis can cause.

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Well,  I've been lucky enough to get in London again and as usual I will be running in aid of Arthritis Research Campaign.  My Dad (who is my own personal hero and general all round lovely man!) has this illness and whilst it may not kill you, and can severly affect your standard of living.  To watch someone who has had such an active younger life become almost "frozen" can sometimes almost become too much to bear, and the look of pain on an arthritis sufferer's face on a bad day I think sums up how debilitating it can be.

I know though, that he will be cheering me on on the day and is my biggest supporter with my training and I know he would do it with me if he were able!!

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Arthritis Research Campaign gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now! For everyone who suffers from this illness.  Thank you xx

New update-21/04/2009-a big thank you to everyone who has donated thus far-I am really grateful to you all!  My big day is on Sunday so any training I haven't done is too late now ;-)  I am just trying to stay calm and be positive (oh and try to eat an extra 500 calories per day-thats the easy bit!! Just don't know if i will stop after!!) Keep your fingers crossed for me-I'll be in a red vest if you want to look out for me!

Update 27/04/2009 Yep, I did it!  Very hot, blistery feet and i may lose a couple of toenails (fingers crossed I don't!!) The official time - 3 hours 35 minutes 26 seconds OMG!!! My photo has been updated at the finish with my daughter Shanny.  It was a very emotional day - I was even first home for arc-amazing!  So I just have to say another HUGE thank you to everyone who has supported me on my journey-its been fantastic and one I will never forget xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
