I am a nursing student at the University of Greenwich and will be running the Asics British 10k London Run in July to raise money for the university's Alumni Fund. When I saw this opportunity I thought that because I have received support for my dyslexia at the university, which has really helped me, this was a good chance to help people on our doorstep who just need a bit of support to reach their potential. It backs people who struggle with things that some people take for granted. 

The money raised will help to pay for equipment and resources for students with a disability or dyslexia, will help those in serious financial emergencies and will pay for for library resources.

I already run 3 times a week. Nearer to the race, I will start to increase my distance. I would like to run the 10k distance before the race so I know in my head that I can do it. I am determined to finish the race because this is a worthy charity. The Alumni Fund helps people to do the best that they can by supporting them in areas where they need it.
