Ace Africa believes in building sustainable futures for children and their communities in rural Tanzania and Kenya. We do this through improved food and economic security, health, well-being and rights awareness.

Story

As some of you will already know last year, on the 21st December 2008 a friend of mine, Rosie Grace Dwyer died tragically and unexpectedly aged only 19. Rosie was full of life and an exceptionally talented person. Be it at a festival, at a party, down the pub or just in the school common room she has an uncanny ability to make you smile and laugh. She was a joy to be around and one of the funnest people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. Running the 10K is a small attempt to commemorate such a hugely missed and incredibly special person.

In her memory, her family has set up a charitable fund as part of ACE charity to sponsor an Arts and Crafts teacher at the South End Academy in North Kenya, a school Rosie and her family visited a few of years ago. Any money raised will go towards funding this project, hopefully for the next five years.

Last year loads of Rosie's friends and family ran a 10K for Rosie, but unfortunately i couldn't be there. I am running the London 10K this summer and would love to raise as much money as possible for this wonderful cause, in memory of such a wonderful girl. Please make any donation you can, every penny will be hugely appreciated.

Many thanks and lots of love,
Helenka
