As many of you know I have wanted to run the marathon for a few years now and it turns out that this is my Year! My reason for wanting to run the marathon is very personal, I made a promise.
My best friend Ali was suffering with bowel cancer and during one of my visits I mentioned that I would like to run the London Marathon one day. Ali asked if I would run it for her and raise money for Sobell house because they were looking after her so well. The promise was made. The next time I went to visit Ali, she had passed away during the night. The staff at Sobell House were so supportive to me as they broke the news.
My Grandfather, who had lung cancer, also spent his last days in Sobell House, so my motivation for raising the money and completing the marathon is very high.
I now have even more reason to complete this marathon as my Gramp passed away in February this year. He was also had lung cancer and was cared for by the staff in Sobell House.
