This Adventure is to sail "Helix" from Blyth, Northumberland to Plymouth. Then from Plymouth to the Azores, Mid Atlantic. Incorpotating the Jester Azores Challenge" a single handed Trans Ocean yacht race for yachts between 20 and 30 Foot. This is my first single handed Ocean race made possible by  "Auntie Flora" and my family and in memory of my Dad. I'll be leaving the Royal Northumberland Yacht Club, Blyth at the beginning of May and the Race starts on 31st. May 2008. My challenge is to satisfy a life long ambition and to raise money for a fantastic service provided for children and  families who desperately deserve it.  All proceeds are to go to St Oswald's Children's Service.

Safety is of prime importance in single handed sailing but I am facing some unpredictable factors. Violent storms in the 2006 Jester Challenge damaged yachts and only 3 out of 12 participants crossed the finish line. Although all entrants made it to ports safely. You are sponcoring my participation in the challenge rather than the target.

I will be compiling a video diary of the event " so that should be a laugh as I start talking to myself after a couple of days at sea"
