“Sally Marsh's fundraising”

on 6 May 2011

Donations cannot currently be made to this page
We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

The ‘Hair and Beauty Industry’ is filled with inspiration and motivation. There is always the excitement of; what new technique is around the corner and what will the next fashion fix be. Here at Oracle we are always reporting on learners successes, exchange programmes to foreign lands, where are we in our programme of learning, what’s happening at work, and most of us spend our time either saying we are ‘stressed out’ or that we are ‘too busy’ to do things. Time goes by and we focus on our selves; how good am I, how can I improve, how can I get that job and we forget about the people around us who are maybe not having such an inspirational, motivational time of it.

Well, now for a different type of inspirational story! Most of you know, we have a Training Consultant at Oracle called Hannah Doyle. Hannah hasn’t been with us very long, less than a year, but in that time she has become a valued member of staff; good at her job, just as busy as everyone else. Last year Hannah was diagnosed with a type cancer called Fibro lamella Liver Cancer and has been undergoing treatment since the beginning of summer to try and fight the disease. Hannah has undergone several treatments including Chemotherapy and now is applying to receive a revolutionary drug called Sorafenib.

Hannah is 24 years old and is a total inspiration to us all.

Through Hannah's recommendation we are now raising money through Hallam FM's Cash for Kids for the Teenage Cancer Trust. Our target is to raise £5000.

Our first event is a parachute jump by four members of staff on Sunday 22nd May - we are hoping that you will help us support Hannah and donate to this page.

Watch this space for our summer 'zumbathon' coming soon!!

Please donate - it means alot! :)

Sally x
