We Create wildflower habitats to help protect Britain's bumblebees

Story

Hi, I'm Damian and I set up 'Help Save Bees' (www.helpsavebees.co.uk) to help raise awareness of the plight of the humble British Bee and to raise money to go towards Bumblebee research and conservation in particular - something I believe passionately about.

Our native British Bees are dying out - and with them will go our flora, fauna and one-third of our diet. We may have less than a decade to save them and avert a global food catastrophe.

I'm also passionate about rowing, and having recently had operations on my hip and then my knee, I have spent the last 6 months training and getting fit enough to row the English Channel from Dover to Calais, on the 28th April 2012 - a 5 to 7 hour endurance row across one of the busiest shipping channels in the world.

I'd really like to raise at least £500.00 that will to go directly towards the invaluable research and conservation work being carried out by 'The Bumblebee Conservation Trust'.

So please give generously and spur me on!

All the best,

Damian

About the charity

Bumblebees are in decline because of a loss of their habitats. Our landscape is changing, over 97% of the UK's grasslands have been lost in the past 70 years. We work to put much needed flowers back into the countryside to benefit our bumblebees and other wildlife.
