Update....!!
Well, we did it! Not only did we smash our target of completing the walk in 12 hours but we also beat the boys by 42 minutes, completing the challenge in 9 hours and 15 minutes.
Despite the rain on Ingleborough (and the black toes afterwards!) I have managed to raise over £1300 for CLIC Sargent and the British Heart Foundation - thank you all for your support and sponsorship.

In another moment of madness involving a few friends and several bottles of wine I appear to have agreed to do the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge! On 24th July I will be climbing three of the highest peaks in Yorkshire (Pen y Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough), a distance of 25 miles, within 12 hours.
I am raising money for CLIC Sargent, an organisation which helps families with children suffering from cancer. Each day, 10 familes are told that their child has cancer. CLIC Sargent helps them each step of the way, from providing specialist nurses and Homes from Home during treatment to support in the community after treatment and helping survivors and supporting the bereaved after treatment.
When a friend received the devastating news that her 2 year old daughter had leukemia I was struck by three things; firstly her amazing strength and positivity, secondly the enormous amount of support from her friends and family and lastly the sheer helplessness of the situation for her family, having to place their little girl's life so completely into the hands of someone else. I am hoping that by raising money for CLIC Sargent I can help make little Isabella's journey, and that of so many other children and families like hers, a little less frightening, a little less uncomfortable, a little bit easier.
