ChildLine is the UK's free and confidential, 24 hour helpline for children in distress or danger. Trained volunteer counsellors comfort, advise, support and protect children and young people who may feel they have nowhere else to turn. Children call ChildLine about a wide range of problems, but the most common problems are abuse (both sexual and physical), bullying, serious family tensions, worries about friends' welfare and teenage pregnancy. Children and young people can call ChildLine about anything – no problem is too big or too small. ChildLine is a service provided by the NSPCC

Story

A HUGE thanks to everyone who has contributed to Childline. It was a glorious day for a marathon in London on Sunday. Great weather, no wind and good temperature. Before start we paid tribute to the victims in Boston - it was absolutely silent - powerful. Then we were off!

I set out at a high pace to give me some margin should I slow down later on in the race. London is SUCH a great place to run with people cheering you virtually every inch of the way. I was pushing hard, and hit the halfway mark at 1.32.41. Once I got to 25km I was starting to feel a bit stiff in the legs. By 30km I had an inkling of an approaching cramp. But all the while I thought about those donations, so I pushed HARD.

I got in at 3.09.47 - not much of a margin to hit the 3.10, but I did it. I have a severe difficulty walking down stairs today, but who cares?

THANK YOU for your contributions - it is much appreciated!
