I decided to use my sailing to raise both money and awareness for Toe in the Water after competing against them in one of their very first events in Plymouth in 2008. After seeing the guys being introduced to the sport I love as part of their rehabilitation and getting so much out of it, I felt I had to get involved. With my brother hoping to join the Royal Marines as an officer next year and with my Dad having been in the Navy, I also feel an immensly strong personal connection to the charity and the incredible work these guys do.
'In order to help small organisations like Toe in the Water keep their administrative costs to a minimum, and because we share a common purpose in supporting injured servicemen and women, Toe in the Water has teamed up with Help for Heroes and JustGiving so that you can raise money quickly and easily online. Help for Heroes is a fundraising charity with the specific aim of raising money to fund projects which support injured servicemen, and Toe in the Water is one of those projects.'
