Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. ME Research is a charity that supports research into myalgic encephalomyelitis. Jon Gay and Peter Ward aim to run the Higlander Mountain Marathon, a two day event, to raise money for ME Research.

Jon himself suffered from ME following a viral infection. He helped save the life of his friend Simon Overton when Simon collapsed climbing at altitude in the Tien Shan. Simon is now being helped by research funded through ME Research UK that looks at the effects of viral infection on the haemodynamic response in the brain. With treatment he is now doing well.
