At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

I've signed up to Discover Adventure's London Stadia Trekathon on 13 May 2012 - a one day, 26 mile hike across one of the best cities in the world.

I'm doing it to raise money for Alzheimer's Society in memory of my lovely grandma, Dorothy Bell. I absolutely adored her growing up - she used to play games with my sisters and I for hours and she made the best fruit cake in the world.

It was difficult to watch her deteriorate to Alzheimer's and I especially felt for my mum and grandad at the time. They say the disease affects the family just as much as the person who is ill and there needs to be more support and financial help on offer to help deliver the highest standard of care.

Please sponsor me (even tiny amounts count and will be very much appreciated)! Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.

THANK YOU xxx
