Many of you will know I am prone to doing mad things.

Well two weeks ago I became the owner of a bike for the first time in 30 years and on 28 April 2008 I leave for Thailand to ride from Bangkok to Angkor Wat in Cambodia.

I will have plenty of company as there are 24 of us going to raise money for the Myton Hospice appeal.

The only thing that is going to keep me training through the winter months and pedalling in the heat of Thailand and Cambodia is knowing how much money we are raising for this exceptional chairty.
