Story

Running for my Big Brother

Well hello there!

I will be running the London Marathon 2009 (for the first time) in memory of my eldest Brother Richard who sadly passed away in June 1999 after a courageous battle of 18 months from a very rare form of Cancer.  He was only 30 years old.

It will be the 10th Anniversary of his death this year and he would have been/will be 40 years old on the 24th of April, 2009.

When Richard found out he was suffering from cancer he wanted to raise money to aid the research into this horrible disease.

He set up the Penny Farthing Appeal Cancer Research Wales and every penny raised goes to the Research Centre at VelindreHospital, Witchurch, Cardiff where he was treated.  He was hoping to raise 1,000.00 but to date money raised in his memory has reached over 77,000.00.

An amazing amount for a truly wonderful Brother.

I’m proude (and slightly scared) to be running the marathon in his memory. I miss him every single day but know he will be cheering me on from high above.

Big Brother is always watching!

Any donation will be gratefully received - from a penny to a pound, everyone counts.
