The HME Support Group has helped myself and my husband Brian so much and this is our way of giving back to them. My husband has had multiple surgeries, which started in childhood and progressed onwards into adulthood. The condition will never be cured. In Brian's case, this condition has got worse as he has got older and he developed bone cancer. Please help us to support this valuable resource.
The HME Support Group provides accurate and up to date information on the many aspects of living with the condition on a daily basis.
The support group is a great aid to those families who have been recently diagnosed, and as a constant source of comfort to long-term sufferers. The effect on the whole family can be stressful at times and the Support Group is there to help alleviate some of your feelings by sharing them with other families in similar situations geographically. Children and their parents often find that what they need most is contact with others in the same situation.
With the fund we raise, we contribute towards conferences and are working on a research database which in itself will help to raise awareness.
