My story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Everyone who knows me will also know that I like to drink my fair share of alcohol. More than my fair share on some occasions it has to be said. It's for that very reason that I expect this post to come as some surprise to many of you reading this. Basically, the essence of my new way of life, is that as from 2nd January 2012, I will cut my intake of alcohol to virtually nil. For as long as I can.
I have many reasons for doing this. As some of you know, I never get hangovers and I feel utterly blessed for that, however it can go the other way, and I over drink. It's a trait I despise about myself and despite my oft used bravado, it's definitely not something I am proud of. I must start thinking of the damage I am doing to myself. So the main reason is for my own health. But I also thought I could introduce a quirky way to raise some money for a cause that's become very important to me. For every month that I succeed in my self set challenge, I will donate £10 to the Astro Fund, a charity that my brother has been supporting, that work to find a cure for low grade brain tumours. My amazing friend, Kerry Scorah, is doing a triathlon on 1st July. A 400m swim, 18k bike ride and 5k run and she's collecting for Astro Fund here. Massive thanks to her and to all those sponsoring Kerry on this page. Means so much.
