COMPLETED _ 14HRS 30MINS

JUNE 30 - LIZARD TO LANDS END ULTRA MARATHON

A 44 mile coastal path run from the Lizard to Lands End in Cornwall.

REPORT:

This was the wetest event to date, it rained horizontally all day long.  Wet socks cuased a problem with blisters.

Because of my injury going into this event, I had to pace myself to finish the long distance which gave me a great sense of achievement and will prove beneficial when I get to Norway.

COMPLETED - 16HRS 54MINS - 8TH

MAY 19/20 -DEVON COAST2CAOST

128 miles (on foot, mountain bike and kayak) from the most northerly to the most southerly points in Devon, encompassing two coastlines, Exmoor and Dartmoor National Park.

REPORT:

Hard work and a real test of my resolve.  Got the kit choice horribly wrong on day1 spending most of the day soaked when crossing Exmoor on bike and sunburnt on day2 for the final 19mile run along the coast from Dartmouth to Prawle Point.  Also, experienced a time consuming chain break and separate puncture at the start of day2 on the off-road section from the Moors to Totnes.  Many thanks to fellow competitor Pete Kneebone for stopping and providing necessary help with the chain repair..... Saviour!

COMPLETED - 15HRS 36 MINS - 21st out of 58 3day finishers/78starters

MARCH 30/31/01 APRIL - THE JURASSIC COAST CHALLENGE

75 miles in 3days along the length of the Jurassic (Dorset) Coastline from Lyme Regis to the Sand Banks Chain Ferry and back to Studland @ the entrance to Poole Harbour.

REPORT:

Although, I am not featured you can see the photo gallery that depicts the event and terrain @

An incredible experience across some astonishing and extreme coastline over 3days.  Devon is now considered somewhat flat and Dorset is a great training ground for the Norseman Ironman!

As expected, I experienced personal hi's & low's during this event, but strangely found day3 easier than day2, when I suffered blisters.  I received massive support from Charlotte and the kids who made all of the dozen checkpoints and cheered me on and fed me along the way!

COMPLETED 24/02/2007  - 5hrs 51mins                                                                                ENDURANCELIFE.COM  SOUTH DEVON COASTAL MARATHON   26 miles of wet South Devon Coastal Path and bridleway - it hurt! The conditions were particularly wet underfoot and it was mostly like running in treacle, especially on the bridlepaths's.
