Palace to Palace 2017 · 1 October 2017 ·

The King’s Trust supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. Many of the young people we support are in or leaving care, have been in trouble with the law, or they are facing challenges such as homelessness or mental health issues.

Story

I've made the rather rogue last minute decision to take part in the Palace to Palace Challenge....this Sunday 1st October...(5 days away). For those of you who don't know already, Palace to Palace is a 45 mile bike ride to raise money for the Prince's Trust.

In my adult years I've owned a bike a total of zero times, ridden a bike on very few occasions (> 15) and only ever really cycled downhill (gear changing is a slight mystery to me - which probably won't shock those of you who have been in a car when I'm driving). I'll be borrowing a bike on Sunday (thanks Eliza)....and if anyone has a helmet they wanna throw this way for the day that would be grand.

However despite all of this, the challenge is for a great cause and charity that helps disadvantaged young people in the UK to change their lives and get into work, education or training. This is an area I've always been interested both during and after I left teaching and I know how important charities like this are in making a difference.

All donations however big or small would be hugely appreciated and definitely keep me going - so if you can spare a couple of quid I'd be forever grateful!
