My story

Thank you so much for visiting the 'Holly and Olivia Memorial' fundraising page, and sponsoring us for our latest fundraising event. Holly and Olivia were two very special little girls who were much loved but tragically taken from us in 2008. In order to try to do something positive to focus on after losing them we have decidied to set ourselves a target of trying to raise £20,000 to buy medical equipment for the Intensive Care Ward and the Cadiac ward at the Bristol Children's hospital who cared for our beautiful girls. The Bristol half Marathon is our first sporting event and so far there are 12 of us signed up to this event to try to raise the money towards target. Thank you so much for your donation and kind words of support which really do mean a great deal to us.

This is our story..... In 2005, my first daughter Holly was diagnosed with a life threatening heart condition. She was only 3 months old. She went on to recieve a life saving heart transplant aged only 6 months old. Following her transplant she was treated by the cardiac ward at the Bristol Children's Hospital and despite a few problems, seemed to be doing well. She died suddenly in September 2008 from a complication related to her transplant. She was only three and half years old. Very sadly she died the day after I gave birth to her baby bother Sam and never got to meet him.

Following this tragedy we tried to be positive about the future and were thankful for the joy that my other little girl Olivia and her new baby brother Sam brought into our lives. Then tragedy was to hit us again. Holly's little sister, Sam's big sister, Olivia suddenly became ill in December and despite the efforts of the medical staff at the Children's hospital she sadly died shortly afterwards from an infection similar to meningitus that caused septicaemia . She was a beautiful, bright little girl who missed her sister Holly but reveled in the joy that her baby brother Sam brought.

We miss Holly and Olivia so much and think of them every day. We still try to be positive about the future and hope that through the support of family and friends we will find the strength we need to be happy for our own sake and for baby Sam. (Sam is now 10 months old and areal joy).

Because of the care and treatment that the girls and their family recieved from the Bristol Children's hospital we have set up the  'Holly and Olivia Harding Memorial' fund under the umbrella of Above and Beyond Charities

The money raised goes directly to the Bristol Children's Hospital Intensive Care and Cardiac wards providing direct help to other sick children and their families. This is all done in memory of Holly and Olivia Harding who will remain in our hearts and minds forever.  It is some comfort to the people who loved them to know that positive things are happening because of two very special little girls. Thank you again.

Donating through Just Giving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us. Above & Beyond Charities gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Just giving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Thank you once again for your kind support.  Holly and Olivia's friends and family xx
